What information do we use?
- Your name or the reference your school uses for you.
- Your class and the subject or question being marked.
- Pictures or text of work you submit.
- The transcript, suggested mark, grade and feedback created from your work.
- Basic security and technical information needed to keep the service working.
Some schools choose to record information such as SEND support or pupil-premium status for school reporting. This is kept separate from marking and is not used to decide the mark for your work.
Why do we use it?
We use it to provide marking suggestions, help your teacher review work, show feedback after your teacher releases it, protect accounts and fix problems. We do not sell your information or use your work to train public AI models.
Who can see it?
You can see your own released results. Your teacher and authorised school staff can see work and results for the classes they are allowed to manage. Trusted technology suppliers process limited information to run ReMarkAble, but they must protect it and may not use it for their own purposes.
How long is it kept?
Identifiable work and detailed feedback are normally kept for no more than 12 months. They may be removed sooner if you, your parent or your school asks and the law allows it.
What choices and rights do you have?
You can ask what information is held, ask for a mistake to be corrected, and ask for information to be deleted or restricted. Sometimes your school must handle the request because it controls the data. You will not be punished for asking a privacy question.
