Exams are still pen and paper. Most revision tools aren't. I noticed that disconnect — as a teacher, a dad, and a bit of an AI nerd — and decided to do something about it.
The Spark
My oldest is doing her GCSEs. My youngest is preparing for the 11+. Most evenings involve revision — usually on some screen-based EdTech tool.
But here's the thing: exams aren't done on screens. They're still pen and paper. Always have been, rightly so.
That gap — between how students revise and how they're actually assessed — started to bother me. A lot.

Who I Am
I've spent my career understanding how feedback works — what makes it land, what makes students improve, and what teachers need to deliver it well.
I'm also genuinely obsessed with AI — not as a buzzword, but as a practical tool for solving real problems. Put those two things together, and once I spotted the disconnect, I couldn't unsee it.

Students upload handwritten or typed answers. ReMarkAble AI marks them against the relevant exam board and curriculum criteria, and returns structured feedback — strengths, gaps, and next steps — in under 60 seconds.
It started as something I made for home. It's now in testing and free to use — and it's quietly growing. Teachers, parents, and students are discovering it organically every day.
